Grant Summary

Last May we received 21 grant applications. Of those grant applications we funded 18, for a total of $12,192.87. FUND69 is thrilled that we were able to grant over $12,000 to the staff of District 69 for wonderful projects to enhance the quality of education for the students. This is thanks to the many people who supported FUND69 by attending our events, donating items for raffle or auction and donating money.

Below is a list of the grants given in the spring of 2008.

Madison

$258.30 to Catherine Armstrong for Kid's Discover Magazine (for Madison and Edison)

$197.44 to Madison and Edison LMC directors and reading specialists for a summer reading program. (Wihthout additional funding this program was cancelled and the money was returned to our account)

$348.15 to Allison Orobia for a 'Noteworthy' music rug

$486 to the First Grade Team for Leap Pads and associated materials

$1006.95 to the Kindergarten Team for sets of take home math manipulatives

$147 to Renee Cunningham for listening center materials and a storage rack

Edison School

$616.51 and $500.33 to Donna Sabin for paperback library books for struggling readers and for hardcover folktale books

$350 and $486 to Stephanie Crane, Katie Perry and Ashley Russow for listening center materials and National Geographic Explorer Magazines

$301 to Gerry Wattenbarger for supplies for the Green Thumbs Garden Club

$1080 for Noah Schroer and Angie Abramite for portable stage lighting for Edison and Lincoln

$637.60 to the 5th Grade Team for listening center materials

$428.95 to the Edison Special Educaiton teachers for reading materials for struggling readers

$576.94 to Jim O'Malley and Julie Hennelly for artifacts for the hands-on science museum

Lincoln Junior High

$2,500 to Joe Cullota toward a vertical climbing wall for Lincoln Junior High. This money will be combined with other funding to purchase this wall when it is fully planned.

$1187.84 to the 7th Grade math teachers for Versatiles(math materials)

$1,083.86 to Lori Bradley for Playaways audio books
